Last month you learned how to sign up for emergency alerts. But what happens after one is received during a
wildfire?

The Greater Avenues has nine evacuation zones. To determine what zone you are in, check the map at
https://fire.slc.gov/wildland/.

During a wildfire, you could be alerted that your zone is in Ready, Set, or Go status. 
When it is time to GO – do you know how to safely leave a zone? Identifying evacuation routes before you need
them is an important step in emergency planning. Do you know where the dead-ends are? Can you anticipate
where traffic may bottleneck? You should have several potential travel routes in case one route is blocked by
the fire or by emergency vehicles and equipment.
