Announcing the Passing of Pilar Pobil
With heavy hearts, The Pilar Pobil Legacy Foundation announces that our beloved friend passed away peacefully at her 8th Avenue and E Street home on November 13, 2024. A treasure given to us all, Pilar Pobil made a lasting impact. Her legacy of beauty continues in countless ways: an endowed scholarship in her name at the University of Utah College of Humanities, a gallery named after her at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center, hundreds of school children, artists, and creatives who hold memories of being in her magnetic presence, and a multitude of friends and admirers who remember magical moments spent in her brilliantly decorated Avenues home and the many art shows and parties she held in her garden. Pilar’s beauty is not only embodied in her art, but it also lives on in the fight for human rights and the dignity of women. Never give up!
