Avenues Street Fair Featured Artist Program

The Street Fair Committee is pleased to announce that local artist and Avenues resident Libby Peterson has been selected as the 2026 Avenues Street Fair Featured Artist!

“My name is Libby Peterson and I’m a SLC-Based graphic designer and illustrator. My work explores everyday moments, nature, and emotion through visual storytelling. While studying graphic design at the University of Utah, I began sharing my art publicly and participating in local art markets. I found that I love to connect with the community through my art and the connections that I have made during those events mean so much to me.  My work primarily focuses on digital illustration, pen and ink drawings, and printmaking, but I’m always exploring and experimenting with new mediums. I’m drawn to bold color palettes, texture, and thoughtful use of negative space.  In addition to my art practice, I work as a graphic designer specializing in branding, typography, color, and layout design.

Featured Artist Program Background:

Each year the Avenues Street Fair selects a new local artist who then creates an original work of art that has traditionally depicted the artist’s concept of “What the Avenues Means To Me.”  For the 2026 Avenues Street Fair, we are suggesting the artist use the theme “Animals in the Avenues,” domestic and/or wild.
